The much‑anticipated Tassie Scallop Fiesta returned to Bridport on Sunday 2 August 2026, marking its ninth edition as one of Tasmania’s premier winter food and cultural events. Established to enliven this charming seaside community during the cooler months and to celebrate the opening of the commercial scallop season, the Fiesta has become a staple on the State’s foodies’ calendar. Woolnorth Renewables has proudly sponsored the Scallop Fiesta since it’s inception in 2018 and continues to be proudly involved in this beloved community event. 

Over the years the Tassie Scallop Fiesta has grown into a vibrant celebration of seafood, maritime culture, and local flavours. Anchored in Bridport’s Village by the Sea, the event combines culinary experiences with live entertainment, educational displays, and familyfriendly fun. Fiesta Director, Mr. Tony Scott said ‘Events such as this could never happen without a legion of volunteer helpers and support from generous sponsors, like Woolnorth Renewables.’ 

The Fiesta itself transformed the Bridport Community Hall and Village Green into a hub of sights, sounds and aromas, with more than 3000 people enjoying: 

  • wide array of food and beverage stalls showcasing fresh scallops and other local produce. 
  • Culinary demonstrations by chefs with a special focus on scallops and seafood. 
  • Wine and spirits masterclasses for enthusiasts keen to expand their tasting horizons. 
  • main stage musical lineup, including headline performances from Captain O’Brien’s Craic and the talented trio Sparrow Grass, bringing an eclectic mix of sounds to the afternoon. 
  • Educational displays from respected organisations including the Institute of Marine and Antarctic StudiesMarine and Safety TasmaniaFishcare, the Australian Maritime College, and even a traditional rope maker, offering insights into marine science, safety and local maritime heritage. 
  • Entertainment tailored for all ages, ensuring a full day of engagement for families and visitors alike.
