More than 600 people enjoyed a successful 2020 Tassie Scallop Fiesta, proudly sponsored by Musselroe Wind Farm, in what was one of the first public events held in Tasmania post coronaviris lockdown.

The cap on the size of the crowd imposed by Public Health Authorities took account of 500 people outside on the Village Green and 154 in the hall and lent a boutique atmosphere to the annual fiesta, which has attracted 2500 to 3000 people in previous years.

Responses from patrons and stall holders were complimentary for the determination of the organisers to press ahead and hold the event, despite the many challenges.

The Fiesta and various fringe events in the lead up were all sold out on-line well ahead of the day.

The Mariners Muse story telling session was again a hit at the Golf Club and a Launch Party at the Football Club community venue was also well received.

The innovation of a growers and makers market on Fiesta eve was also popular and the surf club’s brrrrave winter swim helped make it a celebratory weekend.
