Television personality and celebrity chef Massimo Mele was the guest chef for the inaugural dinner at Smithton’s Tall Timbers.
“Graze the Region Dinner, for me, is all about re-discovering Tasmania’s North-West Coast. Meeting the local farmers and working with their produce is something I am really looking forward to. The opportunity to do this in my home state makes it that much more special, ”Mele said.
Mele was born in Tasmania and developed his love of food while living in Naples alongside his grandmother, mother and aunts. He started his career at St Kilda’s Donovan’s Restaurant where he also won the Apprentice of the Year. In 2004 he returned to Tasmania, opening Mud Bar & Restaurant at Launceston’s Seaport and earned a prestigious Chef’s Hat in 2005. He was also named the People’s Choice Award winner at the Lexus Young Chef of the Year in the same year.
Woolnorth Wind Farms is proud to provide sponsorship for the Graze the Region Dinner 2016.
