Woolnorth Renewables was proud to support the 2026 Day on the Duck, a vibrant community celebration hosted by Circular Head Council on the banks of the Duck River at West Esplanade in Smithton.

Held on Saturday 24 January, the event brought together hundreds of residents, visitors, families and volunteers for a relaxed summer day by the water. Designed as a family-friendly and low-cost community event, the program featured a wide range of attractions including free children’s entertainment, live music and a selection of local food vendors, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy.

A highlight of the day was the much-anticipated Duck Race, where hundreds of bright yellow and pink rubber ducks were released into the Duck River and raced downstream to the finish line. The quirky and much-loved tradition drew enthusiastic crowds who gathered along the riverbank to cheer on their chosen duck.

Woolnorth Renewables was pleased to sponsor this event, helping make the day accessible and enjoyable for the whole community.

Circular Head Council expressed its appreciation for the support, noting that sponsorship played a key role in delivering the event and ensuring families could enjoy a day of free and low-cost activities.

Events like Day on the Duck play an important role in strengthening community connections across the Circular Head region. By bringing people together in a relaxed and welcoming setting, they create opportunities for residents and visitors alike to celebrate local culture and community spirit.

Woolnorth Renewables thanks Circular Head Council and the many volunteers who contributed their time and energy to make the event possible, and looks forward to supporting community initiatives like Day on the Duck into the future.
